چکیده

Presenter: John D Karalis MD | University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Background: Insulinomas are rare neuroendocrine tumors for which surgical resection is the cornerstone treatment. Enucleation insulinomas located in head pancreas can be challenging but preferable to avoid morbidity associated with pancreaticoduodenectomy. Our video-presentation aims describe our technique robotic enucleation pancreatic insulinomas. Methods: video describes clinical presentation, diagnostic imaging and technical aspects approach two patients that underwent enucleation. Results: The first patient a 76-year-old female who presented 2-month history syncope. Biochemical work-up revealed blood glucose level 35 mg/dl, C-peptide 3.3 ng/mL, proinsulin 90 pmol/L. Insulinoma Diagnosed with Endoscopic Ultrasound – Two Cases

We present two cases of insulinoma diagnosed by endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) after initial imaging was unrevealing. Both patients presented with refractory hypoglycemia and were found to have high c-peptide and insulin levels suspicious for insulinoma with evaluation for factitious causes (sulfonylurea, and meglitinides screening) being ruled out. However, imaging with computed tomography (CT) o...

Metastatic Insulinoma Following Resection of Nonsecreting Pancreatic Islet Cell Tumor

A 56-year-old woman presented to our clinic for recurrent hypoglycemia after undergoing resection of an incidentally discovered nonfunctional pancreatic endocrine tumor 6 years ago. She underwent a distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy, after which she developed diabetes and was placed on an insulin pump. Pathology showed a pancreatic endocrine neoplasm with negative islet hormone immunostains....

Metatypical Basal cell carcinomas: a successful surgical approach to two cases with different tumor locations.

ABSTRACT We present 2 rare cases of metatypical basal cell carcinoma - two 72-year-old male patients with ulcerative lesions localized either to the left forehead or the back. The biopsy revealed a metatypical basal cell carcinoma. The treatment consisted of a wide local elliptical excision with good cosmetic results. There was no sign of recurrence or metastasis during a 12 months follow-up pe...

[Two cases of renal cell carcinoma that underwent radical nephrectomy subsequent to complete tumor enucleation].

We have reported the favorable therapeutic results of non-ischemic complete enucleation using a microwave tissue coagulator as a method of nephron-sparing surgery for small renal cell carcinoma (RCC). We experienced two elective cases that underwent translumbar nephrectomy subsequent to the tumor enucleation. The first case showed another RCC in a cyst, concomitant with the enucleated RCC. The ...

Giant Insulinoma in Uncinate Region Treated by Enucleation

A 32-year-old male patient, a known case of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) with 11 × 9 cm GIANT functioning insulinoma in the uncinate region of pancreas, with no local invasion or metastatic disease, is presented. In view of CML, enucleation of the tumor done. Histopathology was s/o ‘insulinoma of uncertain biological behavior’. Postoperatively, the patient was followed up for one year and fou...
